KEN BAXTER ATTENDS SHOT SHOW 2014 IN LAS VEGAS, NEVADA!

Good afternoon dear readers and welcome back to kenbaxter.com!  I am Ken Baxter of Las Vegas and today is Friday, January 31st, 2014.  As many of you may already know, I am an aficionado of all things American made.  Through our public charity, Made In America, my lovely wife Linda and I are dedicated to promoting American made products, supporting the development and re-invigoration of the manufacturing industry in our country, creating and keeping jobs in the USA, and increasing the speed of this nation’s economic recovery through Patriotic Spending. We are always on the lookout for new ways to promote our vision to others, to connect with those who have a similar mindset, and to better our society by sharing the resources and knowledge we acquire along the way.

With that said, I am always thrilled to report another “American Made” experience because they are far too infrequent, and our mission is to turn these experiences into the rule rather than the exception!  A couple weeks ago, I was delighted to attend one of the greatest showcases of American made goods which takes place right here in Las Vegas every year – the Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade Show and Conference!  The SHOT Show, as it is also warmly regarded, is the largest and most comprehensive trade show for all professionals involved with the shooting sports, hunting, and law enforcement industries.  This year’s show took place January 14th-17th and was the best yet!

Thanks to my dear friend and partner at Liberty Homes, Joe Whatley, we got tickets to attend the show at the Sands Convention Center earlier this month!  What an exciting event and amazing opportunity to see all the new technology available for those in the military, police, hunting, and other related trades.  Joe is also a firearms safety instructor and member of both the International Hunter Education Association and the National Rifle Association, and he and I are both avid hunters and firearm enthusiasts.

At this year’s show, not only were we excited to see all the fascinating new equipment being made but we were ecstatic to realize just how many of the showcased products are made in the USA!  This is a rare experience nowadays, dear readers!  Normally, when you walk into a regular run-of-the-mill superstore you will probably notice that 9 out of the 10 items you pick up are made in another country.  Not so at this wonderful, patriotic expo!  Everywhere we walked there were American logos, seals, flags, and banners and representatives from all 50 states were in attendance.

The Shot Show promotes patriotism to the “nth” degree.  It is Patriotic Spending at its finest!  Though there are attendees from over 100 countries around the world, almost all the showcased products are American made.  Additionally, it is the largest trade show in the world, according to their website – http://www.shotshow.org/.  This unique convention features more than 1,600 exhibitors showcasing firearms, ammunition, and shooting and hunting accessories, as well as products specifically designed for law enforcement and armed forces.  This event is huge, covering over 600,000 square feet of exhibits in the Sands Convention Center. It is truly impressive!  I know I will be back next year to see the newest American made products in the industry.

Remember, it is up to all of us to do our part to re-invigorate the economy!  If we increase our Domestic Spending on American made goods and services just five percent, we can create 1 million jobs directly and another 1 million jobs indirectly, totaling 2 million new jobs for Americans!  If you would like to learn more about America job creation, visit our public charity, Made In America’s website – http://mianv.org.  For more information about past and future Shot Show events, please visit – http://www.shotshow.org/.  I hope to see you there next year!
